The a$≈Ωbove-mentioned quality properties of leather ≠&>βproducts depend on the chemical mateφ"​↓rials used in the tannin≤  g process, so the selection of suitable ch'✔←emical materials plays ©<an important role in improving the quality ↔'γof leather, shortening the production cy>≈±&cle and simplifying the process.

General Situation of Leather Chemicals Production↑∏' at Home and Abroad Foreign production of leathe δr chemicals has a long history. For example↑¶σ, BASF Company in Germany was established♥ σ in 1865 and has a history<☆&© of more than 100 years. There are many co∑☆mpanies producing leath'•↓δer chemicals, including BA‌≤¶SF, Bayer, Herst, Henkel a‍♦>>nd Bomei. Romhas Company in the United States, ♣‌'​Horson Company in the United Kingdom a↑♣±↑nd Cullman Company in France, the →≈Dutch Starr Company and the ✘××newly established Derry Company in ≈♦Qingdao, China are famous. These foreign↔&>γ leather companies have a good production founda"φ₽→tion, high technical level, many produ↓÷ct varieties, large output, excλπellent performance, and stable quality. Tann ≥α∑eries in various countries are willing∏∏ to use their products. In contr×$₹≥ast, the development of China's leather chemical← ≈↓ industry is late and the startin ✘↕g point is low. Before the 1960 s, Chi♦"na's leather chemical industry wasα• basically in a blank situation, with only a s§$÷mall number of varietie₹÷±∏s such as sulfated casto↓®r oil and gloss pulp produced. In t±∑$he 1970 s, more than 20 β€σchemical enterprises represented by Beijing LeΩ←ather Chemical Factory and Shanghai∞δ§≈ Leather Chemical Fa÷™®↔ctory appeared in the light "→β₹industry system. After entering the 1980 s, as t÷÷he center of gravity ₩<≥πof the world leather industry gradually shif∑®♥ted from developed countries to developing ≈<₩¶countries, China's leathβ™er chemical industry has als↓✔₹o developed rapidly. According to relev©≤"βant statistics, there arΩφe now more than 200 leather ch♣ emical plants in the country producing various le∑♦↕≠ather chemicals. In 1∏€ 992, the total output reached 50000 t, the oγ€utput value was close to 0.3 billion yuan,δ§ and the profit and tax ©₩was about 60 million  ↓yuan. In 1995, the total output reached 120000 >> t, which has begun to taβ¶γ÷ke shape.

On the current level of develop©™ment of leather chemicals in China, there  ↕is still a large gap with forei©←→♥gn countries, highlighted in the product var★∑iety, poor matching, low quality an×σ•★d poor stability, slow product •←update, long development¶< cycle. At present, more than 40% of the leδσ"♣ather products produced in our country π∑​™belong to the products of 10 years a±'₩go. The vast majority of products are low-gra← ≤≤de and medium-grade products, and onl γy a few products are close to the ↑≥level of foreign products in th'σσe late 1980 s. From the de♥♠☆δvelopment of the leather∑>£λ industry, there are two main constraints:

There are too many low-‍ level repetitive studies, few high-te​‍ ↔ch products, and some special leather chemical¶↓s are still blank;

② is the low degree ∑≠ε←of scale of leather chemical enterprises. Mos✔✘↔t of the leather chemical plant pr↑&®oduction equipment is old and backward, most↑♦±​ of them are reactors bel‍∑ow 1000L, with small equipment capac$®ity and low production efficiency. Most o©♦Ω↕f the foreign production enterpris&  λes are more than 10t reactor, pr✘$oduct quality is stable, high production effic•∞>iency. Due to the small scale↓βε of domestic production enterprises, it   'is difficult to form economies of scale, so iε•n the development of new products, marketing an£ε$d other aspects of insufficient invest☆₹γ↑ment, affecting the development of enterprise®♣↔✔s.
